Floating alcove shelving is a popular choice, which can work in any room in the house. These can be painted or made from wood.
Alcove Wardobes
Alternatively alcoves can be fitted with cabinetry – whether this would be with cupboards and shelving, or bedroom wardrobes.
In the case of fitted alcove wardrobes, it is often necessary to extend them out past the chimney breast in order to make them deep enough for hanging clothes. This can be done in a seamless way to fit them in to the room, tying them in without looking like an after thought.
Below is an example of some English oak wardrobes fitted in to two bedroom alcoves either side of a chimney breast. These were fitted prior to the carpets were laid. However our wardrobes can be fitted after the carpets too.
